- Spread Bad odors in atmosphere resulting from organic analysis of died-off phytoplankton (Algae).
- Killing huge amount of upwelling fishes and crustaceans.
- Fishing operation affected badly.
- Fish farming company affected badly and all its farmed fishes died-off.
Other risk of red tide phenomena is the regression of seawater’s quality in the areas where phenomena took place; because of increase density of red tide in the areas near to water intakes used by seawater Desalination plants. Many plants in eastern zone in the State are intermittently closed, as follows:
- Kalba Desalination Plant
- Fujairah Desalination Plant
- Khorfakan Desalination Plant
- Ghalilah Seawater Desalination Plant in RAK
